There are efforts to make Art Walk in downtown Los Angeles safer after the tragic death of a baby.

Last month, a driver jumped a curb while trying to park his car, hitting several people and killing a 2-month-old child in a stroller.

The City Council on Wednesday approved a new task force that will review traffic, crowd maintenance and other public safety issues during future Art Walk events.

Recent crowds at the events have been estimated at nearly 30,000 people.
