Joe Jonas will join Britney Spears on the European leg of her "Femme Fatale" tour and said the opportunity is "a dream come true."
"She was the first girl I ever had a poster on my wall of, and her album was the first CD I ever bought," Jonas told People magazine. "It's so funny to think I had that on my wall and here I am about to perform with her... It's a dream come true."
Jonas made the announcement on Thursday, adding that he will also be joining Spears, 29, for a performance stateside on August 5. The singer said he met Spears at an awards show a few years ago and that she was "a very sweet lady."
Jonas will be performing songs from his forthcoming solo debut album, "FastLife," which is slated for release on October 11. The first single off of his solo album, "See No More" was released in June.
"I'm really looking forward to being part of this," he said. "I'll be playing more music than I have the past few times I've performed live so far... It's going to be really fun to perform some of my music from the album."
Jonas and his brothers Nick and Kevin made up the pop-rock band the Jonas Brothers. They starred in the Disney Channel original series, "Jonas."
He told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the Billboard Awards last month that his solo music will be different from The Jonas Brothers.
"I think it's a little bit of a different flavor, just style-wise," Jonas told OnTheRedCarpet.com. "As you get older, you just start to grow up musically and even with the clothes you wear. It's a whole new direction musically and I'm just excited for the fans to hear it."
In March, the 21-year-old pop singer broke up with Ashley Greene, a 24-year-old actress who plays Alice in the "Twilight" movies. The couple began dating in the summer of 2010. Besides Greene, Jonas has dated singer Taylor Swift, fellow Disney star Demi Lovato and actress Camilla Belle.
