Rescued sea lions released back into wild

SAUSALITO, Calif.

Rescuers at the Marine Mammal Center in Northern California rehabilitated the animals, and one of the animals, Milestone, is the 10,000th sea lion to be treated at the mammal center.

Milestone was successfully treated for a potentially fatal bacterial infection.

The other sea lion is a rescue named Zodiac Girl, even though she is actually a male teenager.

Milestone and Zodiac Girl were found listless at Santa Cruz harbor, suffering from a bacterial infection that could have killed them.
