When audiences last saw Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi on television together in 2010, it did not end well.
The former "Bachelor" star and Girardi had a very public break up filled with rumors and tabloid headlines. So, when news broke that the two would compete against one another on the reality competition spin-off "Bachelor Pad," some wondered why Pavelka signed up for the show.
"Two points of going on -- the first one, Vienna. Finish our conversation, get closure," Pavelka told OnTheRedCarpet.com co-host Rachel Smith about joining the series. "Next, $250,000. All for charity."
Pavelka told Smith he knew Girardi was going to be on the series when he was cast and promised, "It's going to be an incredible season. Vienna and I may be there and that may be the focal point of the premiere, but there's a lot of good stuff that's going to happen."
Girardi and Pavelka got engaged on the 14th season of the ABC reality series "The Bachelor" and broke up suddenly in June 2010. She is currently dating "The Bachelorette" alumni Kasey Kahl, who also appears on the second season of "Bachelor Pad." Kahl vied for Ali Fedotowsky in season 6 of the hit ABC dating show.
While he claims his experience on "Bachelor Pad" was not filled with fights Pavelka is not sure he would do it again. "To do it all over again? Probably not. The overall experience was fun. It was a mission. Vienna was there, that was my mission," Pavelka told Smith.
"What I believe is going to air this Monday is a whole lot of true colors," he added.
Season 2 of "Bachelor Pad" premieres on Monday, August 8, at 8 p.m. on ABC.
