FBI: Sibling suspects captured in Colorado

PUEBLO, Colo.

State patrol officers captured Ryan, Dylan and Lee Grace Dougherty near Walsenburg in southern Colorado.

They were caught after a short chase during which authorities said they fired shots at officers and eventually crashed. No troopers were hurt during the chase, though the three siblings were being treated for unspecific injuries at an area hospital, said officials.

The Colorado State Patrol said that a citizen tipped troopers at about 9 a.m. that the suspects were believed to be in Colorado City. Their car was spotted a half-hour later at a campground in the area.

The suspects fled before Pueblo County deputies arrived, but a deputy spotted the car later at a gas station.

The car took off and a 20-mile chase ensued. Troopers deployed stop sticks north of Walsenburg, and the car crashed into a barrier, officials said.

Two of the three were arrested at the scene. A third fled on foot into Walsenburg but was arrested without incident by state troopers, said officials.

The Dougherty trio, all in their 20s, has been on the run since Aug. 2.

They're accused of opening fire on a police car during a high-speed chase in Florida, then holding up a bank in Georgia a short time later.
