Mark-Paul Gosselaar, known for his roles in the shows "Saved By The Bell" and new series "Franklin & Bash," has gotten engaged, his rep says, weeks after the actor's divorce from his first wife was finalized.
The 37-year-old actor plans to marry advertising executive Catriona McGinn, although no wedding date has been announced, his spokesperson confirmed to OnTheRedCarpet.com on Wednesday, August 10.
Jeweler Neil Lane told People magazine, which carried the initial report, that Gosselaar had proposed to her recently with a custom-made 5-carat diamond ring that he had designed. The actor's spokesperson had no immediate comment.
In June 2010, Gosselaar filed for divorce from Lisa Ann Russell, 39, after almost 14 years of marriage. They have a 7-year-old son named Michael and a daughter Ava, who is 5.
Gosselaar and McGinn stepped out together publicly in December 2010. The two attended a Disney on Ice" event in Los Angeles with the actor's children. In May of this year, Gosselaar's divorce was finalized. He and Russell worked out a private custody and spousal support arrangement.
Gosselaar played smart-aleck teen Zack Morris on the comedy series "Saved By The Bell" between 1989 and 1993.
He went on to star in "Saved by the Bell: The College Years," "Hyperion Bay," and "D.C." He also starred in the 1997 television film "Dying To Belong" with Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank and had recurring roles on shows such as "NYPD Blue," "Commander in Chief," and "Raising the Bar."
Gosselaar returned to television full time as attorney Peter Bash on the new TNT legal series "Franklin & Bash," which debuted in June and also stars Breckin Meyer of "Clueless" and "Road Trip" fame. The show was recently renewed for a second season.
