"I knew that's the way I used to be and now I know how to handle how they're acting. So it's really a great feeling," he said.
And he's impressed the LAPD officers who supervise the program.
"Kyle Kidd, he's a tremendous young man. [He] dedicates a lot of his off time when he's not in school, [he's a] great student," said LAPD Officer Art Gonzalez.
Kyle has ambitious goals; the experience has led him to think about pursuing a career as a criminal prosecutor.
"Once I go through law school and learn all that stuff, I hope to not ever lose a case," he said.
His positive attitude affects just about everything he does.
"At all times, throughout the cadets, or throughout my life or throughout whatever, I have to have that mentality that I can be helping someone else with whatever they're going through," said Kyle.
This /*Cool Kid*/ has come a long way in his scholastic and personal life, and by the looks of things, Kyle will be a positive influence in many lives to come.
