Perseid meteor showers to peak this weekend

LOS ANGELES

The Perseid showers are expected to peak on Friday night. /*NASA*/ says the best viewing will be late Friday into early Saturday morning.

The full moon could interfere a little bit, but you could still catch between 20 and 30 meteors an hour, so long as there isn't any cloud cover.

According to astronomer Tony Phillips, who manages the Science News page at NASA's website, the best time to look is during the hours before dawn especially on Saturday morning.

You may also be able to see the International Space Station, which will be making a series of early-morning flybys over the U.S.
