A trial is scheduled on Monday for the case of 11 local Muslim students accused of interrupting a speech by the Israel ambassador.

The students face misdemeanor charges after their protest disrupted Ambassador Michael Oren's speech at University of California, Irvine February of last year.

Defense attorneys claim they were just exercising their freedom of speech. But prosecutors say they were intentionally trying to shut down the meeting.

All 11 students pleaded not guilty to the charges back in April.
