OTRC: Lady Gaga teams with Barneys New York for 'Santa's Workshop' window display

Lady Gaga will get to put her unique twist to the holiday window display Barneys New York this year.

It was announced on Monday that the singer and a creative team including artists Eli Sudbrack and Christophe Hamaide Pierson of Assume Vivid Astro Focus (AVAF) and Lady Gaga Fashion Director, Nicola Formichetti, will get an entire floor at Barneys flagship store on Madison Avenue and take over the coveted window display starting in mid-November to reinterpret Santa's workshop for the holidays.

The singer will also create a collection of small, limited-edition gift items that will be available at several Barneys stores and online with 25 percent of the sales going to a charity of her choice.

Campaign visuals, including the above cartoon rendering of Gaga with long blue hair and a sparkly red jumpsuit, will be used to decorate shopping bags and other packaging, and will be featured on the company's website.

"Lady Gaga is a rare cultural phenomenon, not only because of her exceptional talents as a singer, songwriter and performer, but also with regard to her support of equality and individuality and status as a fashion icon," Mark Lee, Barneys New York CEO, said in a statement. "Partnering with her in this unprecedented collaborative way to create the largest and most all-encompassing holiday theme that Barneys has ever mounted is a thrill. As a New York City landmark, we wanted to celebrate Lady Gaga as a fellow New Yorker and amazing talent."

As for her next music release, the singer announced that "You and I" would be the next single off her album "Born This Way" when she performed on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" last month. She revealed the cover of the single on Twitter, which showed her in drag as her alter ego Joe Calderone.

She is also working on a photography book with famed fashion photographer Terry Richardson. "Lady Gaga," will be released by Grand Central Publishing on November 22 will include more than 350 color and black-and-white photographs of Gaga.

Richardson followed the singer for 10 months between August 2010 and February 2011. That time period includes Lady Gaga's Monster Ball tour and the recording of her album "Born This Way." The singer will write the book's forward.
