Chula Vista police officer pleads guilty to cheating at casino

SAN DIEGO

Jesus Salazar, 30, pleaded guilty this week for the incident at Sycuan Casino. It's called "bet capping," adding more chips after you've been dealt a promising hand.

"The dealer busts and the player wins, $50 instead of $25," said Steve Van Slyke from Sycuan Casino.

But then on the fourth try, he slipped up.

"He made a mistake by making the move when the dealer was actually looking at his hand," said Slyke.

Salazar was sentenced to three years probation. Shortly after his arrest, he resigned from the police force.
