Daniel Radcliffe might have retired Harry Potter, but the actor's embraced his role as boyfriend and the identity of his girlfriend has finally been revealed.
The 22-year-old actor was photographed holding hands with the mystery brunette in New York on Tuesday and the UK's Daily Mail has since identified her as Rosanne Coker.
Coker, 22, who goes by Rose, is reportedly a painter and met Radcliffe in 2007, when she was working as a production assistant on "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." She has since worked on the final "Harry Potter" films as well as Radcliffe's new movie, "The Woman in Black."
Radcliffe began dating the British beauty a year ago, according to her father, painter/decorator Malcolm Coker, who told the newspaper that he approves of the relationship.
"They would really prefer to keep things quiet," Coker said. "But Rosanne has worked on the last three Harry Potter films, so she and Daniel have known each other quite a long time. But they have been going out for just over a year now. I have met Daniel and he is a lovely guy. I'm just really happy for Rosanne, and as long as she is happy that is all that matters to me."
The couple reportedly spends time between Coker's family's home in Surry and Radcliffe's apartment in New York City.
"No other parent would ask any more," Coker continued. "I know it's not a normal life they live. But they have a lot of fun together and at their age, what more could you ask? Who knows where it is going to lead?"
While promoting "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II" in July, Radcliffe told Larry King that he was "very much in love."
"I've got a girlfriend at the moment, who I am very much in love with," he said. "So, you know, we'll see where that goes."
The actor also said that he is interested in starting a family in the not so distant future.
"It's very strange. I'm one of the broodiest young men you will ever meet," the television show "Access Hollywood" quoted Radcliffe as telling veteran CNN host Larry King . "I think also, because I spent so much time around adults and I saw them all have kids...I've seen how happy fatherhood has made some of my best friends... Not just now. But I want kids and I want lots."
Radcliffe was recently honored by The Trevor Project, which leads in suicide prevention efforts among gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered youths. Radcliffe has supported the organization and appeared in public service announcements since 2009.
Radcliffe has appeared in the Broadway revival of "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" since previews began in February. In the musical, Radcliffe's character is a window washer who uses the titular book to climb the ranks at the World Wide Wickets Company in New York City.
Radcliffe is also set to star in the film "The Woman in Black," based on the book by Susan Hill. In the movie, set for release on October 28, Radcliffe portrays Arthur Kipps, a lawyer who travels to a village to settle the estate of a deceased client and discovered the place is haunted by the ghost of a scorned woman out for revenge.
