Colin Farrell, who plays a vampire in the new horror film "Fright Night," says he enjoys exploring a variety of movie genres.
The 35-year-old Irish actor has previously starred in movies such as the 2002 thriller "Phone Booth," the 2003 superhero flick "Daredevil" and the 2004 Angelina Jolie film "Alexander." Farrell also appeared in "Miami Vice" and another comedy - "Horrible Bosses," which was released last month and stars Jennifer Aniston.
"I just enjoy what I do," Farrell told OnTheRedCarpet.com special correspondent George Pennacchio of KABC Television. "I don't ever want to get bored. There are certain themes that I have revisited over and over again. But just as far as the structure of the character goes, it's nice to try different things."
In "Fright Night," Farrell plays an evil vampire named Jerry. His teenage neighbor, played by "Star Trek" actor Anton Yelchin, discovers his identity and enlists the help of a Las Vegas magician, portrayed by "Doctor Who" star David Tennant, to try and stop him. "Fright Night" is a remake of a 1985 horror movie and is set for release on Friday, August 19.
