'Ghost' musical to be on Broadway in March

LOS ANGELES

The film, starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg, was a major hit in 1990.

In the movie, Swayze played a ghost trying to communicate with his girlfriend - played by Moore - through a fake psychic in the hope of saving her from his murderer.

The plan is to put a musical version of it on Broadway next March.

A musical version already debuted in London this summer, with new songs by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics and Glen Ballard, who helped put together Alanis Morissette's "Jagged Little Pill."

Bruce Joel Rubin has adapted his original movie screenplay for the stage.

Casting for the Broadway version has not been announced.
