The man was found Monday night with a gunshot wound to the leg in the intersection of Avenue I and Beech Avenue Monday night.
Police responded after the man called for paramedics, but after talking to him, they decided his story wasn't adding up.
After investigating, authorities determined he was a suspect in a restaurant robbery.
The man was taken to an area hospital for surgery.
