LA Sheriffs' noses help lead them to pot bust in Lancaster

LANCASTER, Calif.

Members of the sheriff's burglary suppression team were patrolling near an industrial complex on Sixth Street West at about 4 p.m. Monday when they smelled the strong odor of marijuana.

After getting a search warrant, the team discovered a sophisticated marijuana growing operation with about 600 plants growing inside a building.

The plants are estimated to have a street value of more than $1 million. One man was arrested at the scene. He was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
