Man arrested for shattering San Pedro business windows

SAN PEDRO, LOS ANGELES

Police have arrested 24-year-old Jason Bonilla in connection with the vandalism.

Vandals began hitting businesses on 5th Street, Pacific Avenue, Grand Avenue and Gaffey Street beginning July 14.

Investigators say more than a dozen businesses have been vandalized between 7 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. Most of the damage is believed to have been caused by BB pellets.

Bonilla is suspected of vandalizing the San Pedro Barber Shop on Gaffey Street. It's not clear if he's connected to any of the other incidents, but detectives are hoping Bonilla's arrest will prompt witnesses to come forward.

Detectives also have recovered surveillance video in which they identified a four-door, dark colored compact vehicle, possibly a Toyota, that may be connected to the crimes.
