OTRC: Whoopi Goldberg adopts kitten thrown from a moving car (Video)

Whoopi Goldberg appears in a still from 'The View.' ('The View')

Whoopi Goldberg has a new man in her life -- a tough kitten who survived being thrown from a moving car on New York City's Verrazano Bridge.

On Monday, "The View" co-host announced that she had adopted the Russian blue kitten who had visited the morning talk show in July.

"For all of you who remember me on 'The View' meeting Verrazano , the kitten who was thrown out the window of a moving car on the Verrazano Bridge," Goldberg wrote on her Facebook page, posting a video of her new addition. "I adopted him and I was finally able to take him home."

The Russian blue kitten made headlines in July, when an unidentified person tossed him out the window of a moving car on the busy bridge. Animal control officer Brendon Ocasio saw the incident and rescued the 5 week old kitten.

Goldberg said that Verrazano is settling into his new home but her other cat Oliver is not too excited about the competition.

"His nickname is 'Vinny,'" Goldberg continued. "Oliver's not too happy but Vinny is having the time of his life. I think he'll get Oliver to come around sooner than later."

Goldberg will next appear in Jason Segel's revival of "The Muppets" franchise, which is slated to open in theaters on Nov. 23, 2011.
