Bellevue residents clean up after severe storm

August 24, 2011 9:00:00 PM PDT
Bellevue residents were in clean-up mode Thursday. The city was one of the hardest hit by Wednesday's severe weather. It was definitely a sight to see with trees on top of cars, broken power lines and entire neighborhoods in the dark. Wednesday night, storms rolled through northwest Ohio, hitting the town of Bellevue particularly hard.

Annette Smola's backyard is littered with tree limbs of all sizes. High winds even ripped a tree right out of the ground.

By the weekend, these residents will have a better idea of exactly how much damage was done. The next few days will be spent picking up what Mother Nature brought down.

A large portion of the city was without power because of the storm. The damage also delayed the start of area schools. Police say the damage is from straight line winds.
