Zooey Deschanel co-stars alongside a lot of familiar faces in the film "Our Idiot Brother" with Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks and Emily Mortimer.
The actress also cozies up to friend Rashida Jones in the film, which see the two play a lesbian couple. Deschanel talked to OnTheRedCarpet.com co-host Rachel Smith at the premiere of "Our Idiot Brother" on August 16 about what it was like kissing her good friend.
"It was a little weird at first but I thought it was awesome because she's cool," Deschanel said. "I mean, it's better than kissing a stranger. And she's really cute. "
Jones talked about her experience kissing Deschanel for the film in a June GQ interview. "I feel like I've come a long way from my first job, when I had to get mouth-to-mouth resuscitation from Rip Torn," Jones said.

The actress gave a big thumbs up for Rudd's hippie look in the film, where the actor sports long hair, a beard and crocs.
"He looks really cute, right, with the beard," Deschanel told Smith before giving Rudd's look an "A-plus."
As for Rudd's acting in the film - "A-plus ... plus," the actress said.
"He's really cute. He's really sweet and I think he's such a sweet person in real life, I think that in this movie his sweetness shines through," Deschanel said of Rudd. "I think it's a really great cast and Paul is hilarious and so sweet. I think it's a role Paul was born to play."
The 31-year-old actress is best known for roles in "Almost Famous," "Elf," and "500 Days of Summer." She has also appeared on Showtime's series "Weeds" and on an episode of the Fox drama "Bones" alongside her sister Emily Deschanel, where she played a distant cousin of her sister's character.
Deschanel branched into music in 2001, appearing in a jazz cabaret act called If All the Stars Were Pretty Babies. She has since performed on soundtracks for "Elf," "(500) Days of Summer" and "Your Highness." Deschanel also collaborates with M.Ward in their band She & Him and is married to Death Cab for Cutie front man Ben Gibbard.
The actress also stars in the upcoming FOX series "New Girl" and recently co-founded an entertainment comedy website for women called HelloGiggles.com.Check out the trailer for "Our Idiot Brother" below.
