The second season of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" will still premiere on September 5, as initially planned, despite Russell Armstrong's suicide, Bravo confirmed on Tuesday.

"Bravo will proceed with the Monday, September 5 premiere date of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,'" Frances Berwick, Bravo's President, said in a statement. "Given that these episodes were filmed months ago, the producers of the show taped a brief interview this week with several of the cast members to introduce the premiere."

Berwick also confirmed in the statement that the re-editing of episodes was still underway. In addition, the network has partnered with Entertainment Industries Council, Inc. -- a non-profit organization which promotes the accurate depiction of health and social issues -- to raise awareness about suicide prevention through public service announcements and information made available on the network's website.

Armstrong, who was the estranged husband of "Real Housewives" star Taylor Armstrong, was found hanging in a bedroom in a Hollywood Hills home where he had been staying after separating from his wife, who filed for divorce in mid-July. Autopsy results have confirmed his death was a suicide.

Russell Armstrong was laid to rest at Forest Lawn cemetery in the Hollywood Hills on August 25, nine days after his body was found.

Taylor Armstrong, 40, had in her divorce filing cited irreconcilable differences and seeking legal and primary physical custody of their 5-year-old daughter, Kennedy. She also claimed that her husband had abused her physically and verbally. At the time, he did not comment on her accusations.

He and Taylor Armstrong married in 2005 and are said to have separated about two months ago. Their troubled relationship was documented on the first season of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," which aired in 2010.

The other cast members of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" are Camille Grammer - ex-wife of "Frasier" actor Kelsey Grammer, Kyle and Kim Richards, Lisa Vanderpump and Adrienne Maloof.

Two newcomers set to appear on season 2 are Dana Wilkey and Brandi Glanville, the ex-wife of Eddie Cibrian, who is now married to singer LeAnn Rimes.
