Lacey Schwimmer was announced as Chaz Bono's dancing partner for the 13th season of "Dancing With The Stars" on Thursday and the dancer took to her official Twitter page to express her delight with the pairing.
"I'm so thrilled to let you know my dance partner on @DancingABC is @chazbono !! He is such an amazing person! And so sweet! Weee," Schwimmer Tweeted on Thursday at around 8 a.m. PT.
An hour later she wrote, "Heading rehearsal with @chazbono ! He has been working so hard this past week! Such a beautiful person inside and out! Team LaZZy?"
Prior to the big partner announcement that occurred on "Good Morning America" on Wednesday morning, Bono talked about his partner, but couldn't mention Schwimmer by name. "I'm having such a great time rehearsing with my amazing partner on DWTS," he wrote on Twitter Wednesday. Bono also Tweeted a photo (seen above) of himself and Schwimmer just before the rehearsal.
Bono, an LGBT activist and the only child of musicians Sonny Bono and Cher, is the first transgender contestant to compete on the show. Bono was born Chastity Bono but underwent a sex change in 2009.
The two finished rehearsing at 2 p.m PT and Schwimmer wrote, "That's a wrap for rehearsal with @ChazBono he's really coming along!"
Bono talked about working with Scwimmer during his interview on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, saying that the two "instantly hit it off" and Schwimmer "has a great attitude for teaching me."
