Suspect in Aruba missing woman case stays in custody

ORANJESTAD, Aruba

At a hearing on Wednesday in Aruba, a judge ruled that there was enough evidence to keep Gary Giordano in police custody. He has been in jail since the beginning of the month when 35-year-old Robyn Gardner went missing.

Giordano claims he lost sight of her while the two were snorkeling.

At the end of the 60 days, prosecutors can ask the judge to extend the detention or bring him to trial.

Solicitor General Taco Stein said they are considering a range of possible charges, including murder, manslaughter, accidental death and insurance fraud.
