One of Celine Dion's houses has been broken into by a man who was, apparently, hungry, police say.

Daniel Bedard, 36, was charged on Tuesday, September 6, for allegedly breaking into her and husband Rene Angelil's home near Montreal, according to the Associated Press. Police said he raided the couple's refrigerator and prepared to take a soak in their bathroom tub before he was caught.

"He opened the water faucets, was pouring a nice warmish bath ... he even managed to eat some pastry that was in the fridge," Laval police spokesman Franco Di Genova told the news wire. "The suspect was coming down the big staircase and was asking: 'Hey, guys what are you doing here?' So the officers replied: 'What are you doing here?' and they proceeded to put him under arrest."

Bedard has not commented. Police said he jumped a fence to gain access to the property and was charged with breaking and entering, auto theft and causing property damage.

Dion's primary residence is in Florida. She is nowadays preparing to return to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas to begin a new, three-year-long series of concerts, set to begin in mid-March 2012.

Dion, 43, had performed hundreds of times at the venue between 2003 and 2007 and the show grossed more than $400 million. She toured the world in 2008 and 2009 and in October, she gave birth to her and Angelil's twins, Eddy and Nelson. The two are also parents to Rene-Charles, 10.
