Nick Jonas revealed his big Twitter surprise on Wednesday: He is returning to Broadway.

The teen heartthrob will take over the role of J. Pierrepont Finch in "How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" when "Glee" star Darren Criss' run ends on January 22, 2012.

"It's official. I'm coming back to Broadway," Jonas Tweeted on Wednesday, September 7. He added, "So excited & honored to play the role of J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying next year!"

Jonas previously appeared in the revival of "Annie Get Your Gun" on Broadway in 2001 and in "Beauty and the Beast" in 2002 as Chip. He made his big debut in London's West End in "Les Miserables" as Marius in 2010. He previously starred in the Broadway version of the show as Gavroche in 2003. Jonas recently appeared at the Hollywood Bowl this past August for the staging of "Hairspray" as Link Larkin, a role played by Zac Efron in the film adaptation.

The 18-year-old will officially step into the role on January 24, 2012 and will continue until July 1, according to Playbill.com.

"How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" is based on a satirical self-help book. Finch is a window washer who aims to climb the ranks at the World Wide Wickets Company in New York City. The play also stars John Larroquette as J.B. Biggley, the president of the firm.

"Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe, 22, has played Finch since the musical, a revival of a 1960s show, opened in previews in February. He will depart the show on January 1, when his contract is set to end. Criss was announced as his temporary replacement in August.

Radcliffe's participation in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" marked his Broadway musical debut. He had previously starred in the play "Equus" in New York and in London and had famously stripped down during his performances.

The current revival of "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre has earned more than $22 million at the box office.

Nick Jonas rose to fame as part of the Jonas Brothers pop band with older brothers Joe and Kevin. The band starred in the Disney Channel TV movie "Camp Rock" and its sequel with Demi Lovato. The brothers also had a short-lived television series called "Jonas L.A." from 2009 to 2010. The band is currently on hiatus as the brothers pursue individual music careers. In 2010 the singer formed the band Nick Jonas & The Administration.
