Per Johansson said he heard strange noises outside his home in southwestern Sweden, and when he investigated, he found a female moose stuck in a tree.
Johansson said he thinks the moose was drunk from eating fermented apples in his yard. He said the animal probably reached out for more fruit and fell into the tree.
Firefighters used a winch to bend the branches so the animal could get out. Once freed, the moose collapsed on the ground and fell asleep.
Other neighbors in the Goteborg suburb Saro had seen the animal sneaking around the area for days. Johansson said the moose appeared to be sick, drunk or "half-stupid."
