Back in 1968, Brigitte Bardot and Serge Gainsbourg recorded "Bonnie & Clyde" and now Scarlett Johansson has joined forces with Gainsbourg's son Lulu Gainsbourg to cover the song.
The song was used in a campaign for Moët & Chandon champagne, which also features Johansson, who has been a spokes model for the company since 2009.
"Bonnie & Clyde" was based off a poem written by Bonnie Parker, weeks before she and Clyde Barrow were shot on May 23, 1934. The romanticized outlaws were cemented as pop culture icons in Arthur Penn's 1967 film, "Bonnie and Clyde," which starred Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway.
The remake of the 1968 single will appear on Lulu Gainsbourg's upcoming album, "From Gainsbourg To Lulu," which is a tribute to his father.
Johansson recently finished filming "The Avengers," alongside Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans.
The actress will next appear opposite Matt Damon in the Cameron Crowe comedy, "We Bought a Zoo," which is slated for release on December 23, 2011.
Aside from her acting, Johansson also released a 2008 album consisting of Tom Waits covers and one original song, entitled "Anywhere I Lay My Head." In 2009, she also recorded a collaborative album with Pete Yorn, entitled "Break Up," which was inspired by Serge Gainsbourg's duets with Bardot.
