After getting an earful of complaints from angry travelers, the /*Transportation Security Administration*/ has decided to halt some security measures that affected your children: no more pat-downs in private areas for children 12 and under. They will also not be required to remove their shoes as they go through the security line.
At a few airports this summer, the TSA tried new ways to get kids through security without the invasive pat-downs.
"We do want to move and are moving to a more risk-based approach to screening passengers," said Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano. "We tried to streamline procedures for those passengers who are low-risk, which enhances our ability to focus on passengers who we either don't know or who are high risk."
According to the TSA, select airports will have the new procedures implemented by the end of the week. The rest of the country's airports should have an end by the end of this month.
