Michaele Salahi from "The Real Housewives of D.C.," who was also part of the infamous "White House party crashers" duo, is missing and may have been kidnapped, her husband says.

Virginia law officials say she told them via telephone that she does not want her spouse to find her, adding that authorities, including the FBI, are working to make sure she is okay.

"FROM SALAHI FAMILY: @MichaeleSalahi RHODC star is MISSING, Please RT, if u know any details please contact missing@MichaeleSalahi.com," said a message posted on the 45-year-old reality star's Twitter account on Wednesday, September 14.

The family's manager Gina Rodriguez also Tweeted: "Michaele Salahi was last seen wearing a Baby Blue T-shirt dress with a silver glitter dolphin on the front and black thongs. #KIDNAPPED."

The Warren County Sheriff's Office in Virginia said that it had received a call from Salahi's husband, Tareq, on Tuesday evening at 11:55 p.m. He told them that he had last heard from his wife "about six hours ago" and was concerned because "she had contacted him from an Oregon area code and she was supposed to be back in Northern Virginia today."

"Deputy Mike Glavis subsequently spoke with Mrs. Salahi by telephone a few moments later," the sheriff's office said in its statement, obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com. "She seemed calm, was engaged in conversation, and assured the deputy that she had left the residence with a good friend and was where she wanted to be. Mrs. Salahi advised that she did not want Mr. Salahi to know where she was."

"Mrs. Salahi advised Deputy Glavis that she was very sorry that the Sheriff's Office had to be involved, but she did not want to be home right now," the statement added. "Deputy Glavis made contact with Mr. Salahi and advised him that he had spoken with Mrs. Salahi and told him that she was fine."

The sheriff's office said it also contacted her friends and family and was working with the FBI "in an attempt to make additional contact with Mrs. Salahi to assure her well being."

Rodriguez told CNN that Tareq Salahi believes his wife is being held against her will.

She said he last saw his wife at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at their Virginia home as she was leaving for a hair stylist appointment and a dance class and that she did not attend either.

Michaele Salahi then called him at 7 p.m. using a cell phone, which showed an Oregon number he did not recognize, and told him she was going to her mother's house. However, her mother told him she did not know of her daughter's plans to visit and that she never arrived, Rodriguez said.

The Salahis appeared on September 8 on "Matty P's Radio Happy Hour," during which Michaele Salahi revealed that she had posed for Playboy for an upcoming issue.

She and her husband first made headlines in 2009 after they were accused of entering a White House banquet without an official invitation. They denied they "crashed" the event but were criticized heavily by many press outlets and on blogs.

When asked how they deal with critics, Tareq Salahi told the Matty P radio show: "Those idiots don't realize that they're actually helping us. It's all good, actually, because it sparks more interest."

He cited Mario Lopez's new reality show, "H8R," which premieres on Wednesday and sees stars such as Kim Kardashian and "Jersey Shore" star Snooki coming face to face with non-celebrities who dislike them.

"Its become part of pop culture if you will, to have haters," Tareq Salahi said. "It's actually a good thing to have because it increases awareness."

Last year, Michaele Salahi appeared on the Bravo reality series "The Real Housewives of D.C." The cable network canceled the show, one of several in its franchise, earlier this year after the series ran for one season.

Michaele Salahi later joined the VH1 reality show "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew." She was booted off the series before the premiere of its fifth season in June because it was determined she did not meet the show's key criteria - having an addiction.

Her husband told OnTheRedCarpet.com in a statement that Michaele Salahi, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, was "fired due to her health condition, which is a clear violation of the Americans Disabilities Act."

Michaele Salahi told the Matty P radio show that she "had a great time" filming the series for 10 days, adding that socialite and actress Bai Ling was her roommate.

In May, Michaele Salahi released her debut single, a dance song called "Bump It."
