Iraq joins talks on bail for jailed Americans in Iran

TEHRAN, Iran

A delegation of Iraqi lawmakers is in Tehran trying to seal a $1 million bail-for-freedom deal for Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal. They were detained along the Iran-Iraq border in July 2009.

Iran's judiciary said Wednesday the two Americans are not about to be released as stated Tuesday by Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The Gulf state of Oman sent a private plane to Tehran, but no other details were given.

A third American, Sarah Shourd, was released last year after similar mixed messages.
