Naked woman runs into store after kidnapping

September 16, 2011 12:00:00 AM PDT
A naked 21-year-old woman ran into a liquor store in Indiana after escaping an alleged kidnapping by her own father.

Witnesses didn't know what was going on.

"She was scared to death. You could tell that. She was shaking. There's like a twine rope around each ankle, like I don't know if she had pulled loose from something, being tied up," said store clerk Sandy Farley.

Police say seconds later surveillance video shows the woman's father running into the store and trying to grab her. There was a struggle, but eventually he put her in a headlock and dragged her out to the car.

"I'm freaking out. A naked lady comes in the liquor store, and then begging for her life. We didn't know if the guy had a gun or anything," said store manager Brandon Hatch.

Fortunately, police arrived and blocked the man's car. The woman's father, identified as Martin Jonassen, was arrested and charged with criminal confinement and battery.

Police say he kidnapped her from her Kansas City home and was heading to Michigan, and she escaped when Jonassen left their hotel room while she was in the shower.
