Brooke Burke is officially taking on her husband David Carvet's last name.
"Tomorrow on 'Dancing with the Stars' will be the first time I go by my new name [on TV]," The 39-year-old "Dancing With The Stars" co-host told People magazine at Sunday's Emmy Awards. "I'm happy about being Brooke Charvet."
"Re the people.com interview. Yes I'm changing my name, some things r more important than Hollywood. I will honor my husband," Burke Tweeted about the news on a mutual Twitter account she shares with her husband called Charvetlove, which is linked to on both of their individual Twitter profiles.
Burke and Charvet wed in August in a secret ceremony in St. Barts after a five-year engagement.
The two are parents to son Shaya Braven, 3, and daughter Heaven Rain, 4. Burke is also mom to daughters Sierra Sky, 9 and Neriah, 11, from her previous marriage to plastic surgeon Garth Fisher, who she divorced in 2006.
"When the subject of marriage came up the other day, we started talking about why to do it at this point in our relationship," Burke wrote in her blog in May. "We have a home together, 2 kids together, my other 2 that David is helping raise, and we are totally married in our hearts. 'Do you want forever?' David asked. 'Yes, I need forever' I said. It was just that simple. I would like to have a 'Husband.'"
Before she began hosting "Dancing With The Stars" in 2010, Burke appeared as a contestant and won the seventh season of the ABC dancing competition with partner Derek Hough. Aside from her "Dancing With The Stars" duties, Burke also runs the parenting blog ModernMom.com and wrote "The Naked Mom."
Charvet has had recurring roles on TV series like "Baywatch" and "Melrose Place." The French actor previously dated Israeli model Bar Refaeli and actress Tori Spelling.
"Dancing With The Stars" season 13 premieres on Monday, September 19. ABC is the parent company of OnTheRedCatpet.com.
