Tagger wanted in connection to MTA vandalism

LOS ANGELES

They say he's wanted in connection with an estimated $8,000 worth of vandalism to MTA property.

Authorities released photos of graffiti allegedly done by 28-year-old Tomas Benson of Highland Park. They believe he goes by the tagging name "Ruets".

"These taggers are not misguided kids," said Sgt. Ron Marquez from L.A. County Sherriff's Department. "These suspects are in their 20's and 30's. They are adults who pass themselves off as artists, when in reality they're criminals who commit vandalism crimes that cost property owners and taxpayers a lot of money to clean up."

Deputies raided Benson's home last week, but he was not there. They say he's linked to several tagging crews.
