Matt Roth, the husband of "Roseanne" star Laure Metcalf, has filed for divorce after more than six years of marriage.
Roth, 47, filed the divorce papers on September 12, citing irreconcilable differences, and the couple separated in November 2008, according to People magazine, which carried the report.Roth, who is also an actor, is requesting joint physical and legal custody of the couple's three children -Will, 17, Donovan, 11 and Mae, 6.
Roth is Metcalf's second husband. The 51-year-old actress and her ex, "Grey's Anatomy" actor Jeff Perry, were married between 1983 and 1992 and have a daughter named Zoe. She is also an actress and began her on-screen career by playing a younger version of her mother's character on "Roseanne."
Metcalf played Roseanne's sister Jackie on the hit sitcom, which ran between 1988 and 1997. She earned three Emmys for her part. The actress reunited with her "Roseanne" co-star Johnny Galecki on "The Big Bang Theory," playing Sheldon Cooper's mother in a recurring role. Another "Roseanne" alum, Sara Gilbert, also appeared on the series.
Roth and Metcalf have both appeared on the ABC drama series "Desperate Housewives" - he played Art Shepherd, while she portrayed Carolyn Bigsby.
Metcalf also had parts in movies such as "Uncle Buck," "Scream 2" "Stop-Loss" and voiced Andy's Mom in all three of Disney-Pixar's "Toy Story" films.
