Pasadena barbershop owner's murder probed

PASADENA, Calif.

Police say they found the body of King E. King in the parking lot of King King's Barbershop on East Washington Boulevard shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators said there are signs of trauma to King's body but would not specify as to the nature of those injuries.

The family of the victim, who was also called "John," was overwhelmed with grief.

"I really don't know why anybody would kill such a good person. John was a good person. He had a good heart. He was a fun-loving person. I mean, he did no harm to anybody. If anything, he was trying to help people," said the victim's sister Patricia Ballard.

King was a father of three.

Four people had been detained for questioning, but so far no one has been arrested.

If you have information about the death of King, you're urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-TIPS or 1 (800) 222-8477.
