Halle Berry recently injured her foot in Spain, which has affected the production schedule of her new film, "Cloud Atlas."
Berry suffered a "foot injury while walking in Mallorca on a day off from filming 'Cloud Atlas,'" Warner Bros. Pictures said in a statement to OnTheRedCarpet.com on Thursday, September 22. "Production has adjusted their schedule and will continue filming."
The studio had no immediate comment about whether the actress' injury will postpone the film's release. "Cloud Atlas" was originally set to hit theaters in October 2012.
The film also stars Tom Hanks, Hugh Grant, Susan Sarandon, Hugo Weaving and Jim Sturgess. It is based on a novel by David Mitchell and is consists of several interconnected stories, including that of a journalist who investigates alleged corruption at a nuclear power plant in 1975 and a tribesman living a primitive life in a post-apocalyptic future.
Berry plays Meronym, a woman who is from a tribe called the Prescients. Hanks portrays Henry Goose, a surgeon to the London nobility.
Lana and Andy Wachowski, who penned the script for "The Matrix" trilogy, wrote the screenplay for "Cloud Atlas." They also direct the film with Tom Tykwer, who helmed "Run, Lola, Run."
"Cloud Atlas" began production in Spain earlier this month and is also set to shoot in Scotland and Germany. Last week, Berry was seen vacationing with her 3-year-old daughter Nahla and boyfriend, Olivier Martinez, People magazine reported. He and Berry have been linked together for more than a year.
According to the magazine, she "fell for Martinez" while shooting the thriller "Dark Tide", which was shot in the United Kingdom and South Africa in the summer of 2010. Berry and her daughter's father, Gabriel Aubry, broke up months earlier. Martinez has in the past dated singer and "Bio-Dome" actress Kylie Minogue.
