According to police, Antonio Gutierrez, 43, confronted his son, John Gutierrez, about being lazy and not doing chores around the house.
When their argument escalated, Antonio Gutierrez armed himself with a four-foot long sword and tried to push his son with the weapon, police said. The son tried to ward off the sword with his hands.
The victim ended up suffering a serious, but non-life-threatening, cut on his hand. His father was booked for assault with a deadly weapon.
