It's an event that brings out A-list stars and brings in some major money for the group Aid for AIDS.

The Orpheum Theatre played host to "Best in Drag Show."

Celebrities on the red carpet included Vanessa Williams, Lisa Rinna and Sara Ramirez from "Grey's Anatomy."

Comedienne Kathy Griffin came to kick off the wild festivities, which included a beauty pageant for drag queens.

"This is fantastic, this is my favorite charity event," said Griffin. "I have been doing this for years. I usually open the show with some inappropriate jokes and then we end up raising quite a bit of money for Aid for AIDS."

The show has been well-supported by the Los Angeles community for many years, and raised more than $250,000 in one night.
