Ventura woman struck by car in Ash St. alley

VENTURA, Calif.

At 1:02 a.m., officers found a screaming woman in an alley east of the 100 block of S. Ash St.

Ventura resident Denise Bautista, 40, told police she was walking in the alley when she heard a vehicle behind her and then thrown to the ground.

She told police she believed the vehicle ran her over after knocking her to the ground.

Bautista sustained a broken jaw, broken arm and cuts and bruises consistent with being struck by a vehicle, according to police.
