Jared Padalecki of "Supernatural" and his wife Genevieve Cortese are expecting their first child next year, the actor confirmed on Twitter.
"OK y'all I'd rather you officially hear it from me.. So, yes. Genevieve is pregnant," Padalecki wrote on Twitter on October 11. "We'll be welcoming a new member to our family in 2012."
Cortese and Padalecki married on February 27, 2010 in Sun Valley, Idaho. The couple currently appear on the CW fantasy mystery series "Supernatural," which entered its seventh season on September 23.
The 29-year-old actor asked that instead of gifts that fans donate to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, writing on Twitter, "Let's make the world a brighter place for those not as fortunate."
Just seven hours after making his request, the actor had already raised $3,120 for the St Jude Children's Research Hospital, through the charity website FirstGiving.com.
Padalecki rose to fame portraying Dean Forester on "The Gilmore Girls." He has also appeared in films like "Cheaper by the Dozen," "New York Minute," "House of Wax" and "Friday the 13th."
Cortese, 30, who now goes by Genevieve Padalecki, rose to fame on the ABC Family series "Wildfire." She also appeared on the ABC series "FlashForward."
