A group of suspected burglars was confronted by the owner of the house they had broken into.

The incident happened Thursday night on the 14000 block of Danes Circle in Huntington Beach.

Pete Papes said he and his wife returned home and found two men holding duffel bags. When he confronted them, the suspects took off through a window.

The owner said he chased another suspect who ran out of the home.

"I ran into him at the garage, and tackled him on the lawn. He got up. His other two guys were already in the car. He worked his way around the car. My wife was yelling at him. The car took off, and he ran down the street. They picked him up at the end of the street," said Papes.

All three suspects got away. Anyone with information was asked to contact Huntington Beach police at (714) 536-5951.
