Julia Roberts stars in one of two film adaptations of "Snow White" due out next year. In Roberts' film, currently called "Untitled Snow White," the actress plays the Evil Queen opposite Lily Collins' Snow White and Armie Hammer's Prince Charming.
"She's pretty evil," Roberts told OnTheRedCarpet.com about her "Snow White" character at the recent premiere of her film "Fireflies in the Garden." "Evil has a face. Tarsem [Singh , the director] is amazing. He was not shy, he was not scared of us doing anything. He was amazing. He really let us run wild."
While "Untitled Snow White" is set for release on March 16, 2012, another "Snow White" revamp, "Snow White and the Huntsman," is set for release on June 1, 2012. That version will star Kristen Stewart as Snow White and Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen.
As for Robert's latest film, "Fireflies in the Garden," it chronicles the lives of the Taylor's after a terrible accident leads to great loss in their family, encouraging long-growing tensions and issues to surface. Roberts stars as Lisa Taylor, wife to college professor Charlie, who is played by Willem Dafoe. Ryan Reynolds and Hayden Panettiere are also in the film. Reynolds plays the couple's grown-up son while Panettiere appears in flashbacks as the younger sister of Roberts' character.
Roberts, 43, talked about the film's three year fight to be released, and how sometimes it's nice to have to defend something you support.
"Honestly, I guess, all these years later, it's nice sometimes to have a little fight," Roberts said. "A little push to get it to a place where people can see it and enjoy it, or talk about it, debate it, whatever it is - but it deserves its moment, I think."
Roberts also had compliments for her husband, Daniel Moder, who was the cinematographer for the film. The pair share three children together and have been married for nine years.
"It's so great when you love somebody who is great at their job," Roberts added.
The 43-year-old actress got her early start in the 1990 film "Pretty Woman," which earned her the Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress. Roberts' career then blossomed with films such as "My Best Friend's Wedding" and "Notting Hill." The actress then earned an Academy Award for Best Actress in 2000 for her role in "Erin Brockovich."
