The next time you take in a sporting event, concert or any entertainment at Staples Center, take a look around. Just about everywhere you turn you'll see hundreds of new high-definition monitors, all to keep you closely connected with the action on the floor.
Staples Center has been open since 1999, and this is its first major technological upgrade.
Working with high-tech companies like Verizon and Cisco Systems, AEG announced Tuesday the company spent $5 million on what it calls "stadium vision" to enhance the fan experience whether at the concession stand or in a luxury suite. AEG owns Staples Center.
In fact, while using one of the touch panels in a suite you can customize your view of the game.
At the concession stands the screens there can change the digital menus at a moment's notice or offer various specials as the event goes on.
Most of the "stadium vision" technology is in place now, while other innovations will be implemented along the way.
