The reward has been hiked to more than $11,000 for information leading to whoever killed one of the last male mountain lions in the Santa Monica Mountains.

The 7-year-old mountain lion known as "P-15" was found dead last month in a canyon in Ventura County.

Officials say the lion was killed and mutilated by poachers.

Mountain lions are protected under state law.

Whoever killed P-15 could face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
