'Dancing With The Stars' pro Edyta Sliwinska talks new production

LOS ANGELES

These days, she's dancing mostly with her husband, former "Dancing With The Stars" professional Alec Mazo.

When he can get away from his studies at Stanford University business school, he joins her on stage in the touring production, "Ballroom With a Twist."

"I'm kind of a guest performer so I do my old good ballroom dancing, the routines that I choreographed," Sliwinska said.

The show features different types of dance styles plus live singing from "American Idol" alumni.

"We basically move on from Frank Sinatra through Beyonce or Shakira through all the very, very new and kind of hip artists, go through all the possible dance styles," she said. "I think everyone can find something interesting."

After "Dancing With The Stars," Sliwinska and Mazo created their own stage show called "Dance Temptation." They have big plans for it once Mazo finishes school.

As for "Dancing With The Stars," Sliwinska said she misses it because of the 10 seasons she was on.

"It's been a great, huge part of my life, but I miss it kind of like you miss high school sometimes. You've done it, it was cool, it was a great time of your life, but it's time to move on," she said.

Sliwinska and Mazo can be seen in "Ballroom With a Twist" Friday through Sunday at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts.
