Robin Williams married his girlfriend, graphic designer Susan Schneider on Saturday, October 22, at the Meadowland Resort in Napa Valley, his spokesperson confirmed to OnTheRedCarpet.com.
The couple met in 2009, shortly before Williams underwent heart surgery. According to People magazine, Schneider helped to nurse the actor back to health.
This marks Williams' third marriage. His first marriage was to Valerie Valardi between 1978 and 1988. Williams' second marriage was in 1989 to Marsha Garces, his son Zachary's nanny. Garces was already several months pregnant at the time of their marriage and filed for divorce in 2008.
The actor has three children from his previous marriages, Zachary, 28, Zelda, 22, and Cody, 19.
"Let the wedding madness begin!" Williams' daughter Zelda Williams wrote on October 22, adding later, "The wedding festivities rage on but my tired feet are done. Think it's time to lay in the tub, eat m&m's and write."
Williams, known for comedy movies such as "Mrs. Doubtfire" and drama films such as "Good will Hunting" and "Dead Poets Society," trained at the Juilliard School in New York and has performed in plays off-Broadway before as well as in his own comedy show on Broadway.
Williams recently portrayed a tiger ghost in the Broadway play, "Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo."
The 60-year-old actor won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the 1997 film, "Good Will Hunting." He also has two Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards and five Grammy Awards.
