Drug Enforcement Administration agents and local police officers arrested 43-year-old Alvin Mingczech Yee at his Irvine office Tuesday night. The DEA launched an investigation on Yee last year.
Court documents show that Yee would allegedly set up meetings with his patients at Starbucks locations throughout Orange County. During these meetings, he would write prescriptions for painkillers, including OxyContin, Vicodin and Xanax.
Yee reportedly met with up to a dozen people five nights a week and charged his patients up to $600 per meeting.
Yee's lawyer, Shepard Kopp, says Yee maintains that he is innocent.
