Sandra Bullock's 1-year-old son Louis Bardo is on his way to becoming quite the young art collector, after being gifted with his first Andy Warhol painting on Thursday.
Bullock's agents bought the $14,000 "Peaches" print (pictured below) at Thursday's amFAR Inspiration Gala at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles and gave it to Bullock's son. Proceeds from the auction went to amFAR's AIDS research.
"I want to thank Kevin Huvane and Bryan Lourd for not being cheap [expletive] and gifting my son with his first Warhol," Bullock joked.
The 47-year-old Oscar winner honored the late Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor, who helped create amFAR in 1985.
"Earlier this year, the world lost a radiant woman of courage and compassion. She lives on in every person she touched," Bullock said of the actress and philanthropist, who passed away at age 79 of congestive heart failure in March. "She never thought twice to put her arm around someone who was suffering, and that is the gift we have a human beings, the ability to reach out and touch another human being. Tonight we can honor this extraordinary woman and finish what she started."
Bullock has managed to keep relatively off-the-radar since her divorce from Jesse James, but the actress has been spotted several times with her "The Proposal" co-star Ryan Reynolds.
In August, the couple was spotted hiking together in Wyoming's Grand Teton National Park with Louis. Bullock and Reynolds also rang in New Years 2011 together in Texas, but spokespeople for both stars denied the two were romantically involved.
"I think there'll be a collective sigh amongst women across the United States when I say he's not my lovah, he's just an amazing friend I've had for 10 years," Bullock told NBC's Al Roker at the time at the 2011 Golden Globe Awards in a segment that aired on the "Today" show. "I don't get his loving after dark."
Bullock also said Louis, who she adopted last year before she divorced Jesse James, was the only man in her life at that moment, adding: "That's all I can handle."
Reynolds recently finalized his divorce from actress Scarlett Johansson and has since been romantically linked to his "Green Lantern" co-star Blake Lively.
