Eva Longoria says she and NBA player Matt Barnes, who was recently named as her latest rumored love interest, are not dating.
The 36-year-old "Desperate Housewives" actress made her comments soon after the New York Post's Page Six reported that she and Barnes, who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers, "shared a flirty dinner" in New York last week.
"Matt Barnes and I are not dating!" Longoria said on her Twitter page. "We are doing a charity event together for Padres and Athletes vs Cancer. Why is the truth never the headline?"
Barnes had announced last week that he and fiance Gloria Govan, mother of his 2-year-old twins and star of the VH1 reality show "Basketball Wives LA," had broken up.
Longoria has also been romantically linked to Eduardo Cruz, a singer and the younger brother of actress Penelope Cruz, since the spring of 2011. The two have been photographed holding hands several times and were last seen in public together as recently as mid-October.
Longoria and second husband Tony Parker, another NBA player, finalized their divorce in January after more than three years of marriage. She was also married to Tyler Christopher, who plays Nikolas Cassadine on the soap opera "General Hospital," between 2002 and 2004.
