Nikki Reed wore a white, Maria Lucia Hohan gown with a plunging neckline and open back to a red carpet premiere of her new film, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," at the 2011 Rome International Film Festival in Rome over the weekend.
One of the 23-year-old actress' tattoos, made up of Russian text and located near her right armpit, was visible through flesh-colored mesh that adorned her back and sides. Reed, who plays Rosalie Hale in the movie, was joined at the event by Jackson Rathbone, who portrays her on-screen adopted brother, Jasper Hale.
Their characters are the siblings of Edward Cullen, played by male lead Robert Pattinson. The actor are promoting the movie, the latest sequel in the hit vampire series, around the world before its November 11 release.
The red carpet event took place about two weeks after the Reed, who plays vampire Rosalie Hale, married "American Idol" finalist Paul McDonald. The two met at a film premiere in March of this year and wed in California on October 16.
"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" depicts the wedding of Kristen Stewart's character, human Bella Swan, and Cullen, and the consequences of their union. Stewart recently said that the movie, which contains a sex scene with her and Pattinson, was originally given an R rating.
The film was eventually rated PG-13. The hit franchise is most popular among female teenagers and young adults and is based on the novels by Stephenie Meyer.
"Yes, in the honeymoon scene, we get to finally see what we've all been waiting for - some boot-knockin," Rathbone, who plays Cullen's adopted brother, told OnTheRedCarpet.com.
Pattinson said in March he wondered how the new film will be able to get by with a PG-13 rating because of the violence and sexual content featured in the script, telling Entertainment Weekly: "It's just a horror movie."
Rathbone also told OnTheRedCarpet.com that Stewart rendered him and their other co-stars breathless as she walked down the aisle in Bella Swan's dress while filming the wedding of Cullen and Swan.
"We used a real priest," Pattinson joked during a press conference in Stockholm, Sweden on Friday (see clip below). "So technically we are already married because he did all the things you would do in a normal ceremony. So we don't have a civil union in law, but I guess in the church we are actually married."
The two actors have been linked romantically for years and have often fielded questions about an alleged real-life relationship.
Stewart told Glamour magazine, when asked about it: "It's funny when this question comes up, because I sort of feel like, I don't really care! People can say whatever they want. I don't like to give away gems that people are gonna be like, 'Oh my God!' So I'll always just shrug it off - in fact, I always find it kind of funny, and not just with Rob."
"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" also stars other returning cast members such as Taylor Lautner, whose werewolf character, Jacob Black, remains jealous of the tragic couple, and Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz, who play the other adopted siblings of Cullen and the Hales. Their parents are portrayed by Peter Facinelli and Elizabeth Reaser.
The previous three movies, the first of which was released in 2008, have grossed more than 1.8 billion worldwide. The second part of "Breaking Dawn" is due to be released on Nov. 16, 2012.
